                      PRINTER UTILITYS

Most of the items in this collection will allow you to use a
dot-matrix printer to produce BIG print in various styles. Little
documentation is available, but in the main they are self explanatory.
some were placed in the Public Domain by Daniel Mann of California to
whom we owe a debt of gratitude.

BRADFORD.COM, BRADFORD.INF (Aaron Contorer. Concom Enterprises)
Bradford is one of the best printer programs in the P.D. libaray to
date.It prints out ASCII and WORDSTAR files on a number of different
printers,in 10 different FONTS.

LISTT.COM, LISTT.DOC (Irvin M. Hoff)
Very similar to DISP.COM but it sends the .DOC file to the printer
having let you set a heading for each page along with the date
and page No. It turns .DOC files into well laid out manuals.

BANNER.BAS, BANNERP.BAS

Two very similar programs that run with MBASIC. They seem to work in
upper case only.

BIGWRD.COM

For printing notices or title pages in inch-high upper-case letters.
Each letter is made of a 7 by 8 matrix of normal sized letters: a
large 'A' is made up of many normal 'A's, and so on. With a printer
in condensed mode you get 12 letters on a line. The output goes to
a file which you must print at a later stage. The program prompts
for a name for the output file, then asks for your text. Press <ESC>
to end input.

BLOCK.COM

Very similar to the above, but it does not write to a file - text goes
straight to the printer. Prints upper and lower case using a 12 by 12
matrix. BLOCK can build its letters in the same way as BIGWRD, but
allows a denser effect by overstriking two characters to make each
'dot'. The program begins by asking which two characters you want to
use ('O' and '*' work well). You then type in your text which will
be printed when you press <RETURN>.

GOHIC.COM

An excellent program. Allows you to print any (short) text in HUGE
Gothic letters on virtually any printer. Produces impressive
banners or notices, running sideways along your continuous
stationery. It assumes a line width greater than 80, so set your
printer to condensed mode before running GOTHIC. The best effect
is obtained with lines closed up (say 8 lines/inch). Each 'dot'
on the matrix is built by overstriking 'X','*' and 'O' in the same
position.

OKICHAR.COM, OKICHAR.DOC

A utility for owners of Oki printers that allows user-defined
characters. This provides a convenient means by which users may
define these characters.

TYPWRYT.COM

Enables you to use your computer plus printer as a typewriter. You can
set margins and tab stops. Printing is a line at a time rather than
character by character. The menu in the program is self explanatory.
